Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Amitail collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from amitail.com.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, subscribe to our emails or contact support, we collect your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number and payment information.
We do not see or store your full card number. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and, where applicable, PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Those providers handle your card details under their own privacy policies.
Information collected automatically. When you browse the site we automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, and information about how you interact with the site. We collect this using cookies, log files, web beacons and pixels.
Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from our shipping carriers, our payment processors, and advertising platforms such as Meta, Google and TikTok when you interact with our ads.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
- to process, fulfill and ship your orders, and manage subscriptions
- to send order confirmations, shipping notifications and service messages
- to provide customer support and handle returns and refunds
- to send marketing emails and SMS, where you have opted in
- to prevent fraud and screen orders for risk
- to measure and improve our advertising, our products and the site
MARKETING AND HOW TO OPT OUT
If you opt in, we send marketing emails and SMS. You can opt out at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any email, replying STOP to any SMS, or writing to info@amitail.com. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about orders you have already placed.
SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
We share personal information with the service providers we need to run the business:
- Shopify, which hosts the site and processes orders
- Payment processors (Shopify Payments, PayPal and the wallets listed above)
- Shipping carriers and fulfillment partners
- Email and SMS providers
- Analytics and advertising partners, including Meta, Google and TikTok
- Review platforms, to collect and display customer reviews
We also disclose information where we are required to by law, to respond to a lawful request from a public authority, or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing information with advertising platforms for targeted advertising may be treated as a sale or sharing under some US state privacy laws. You can opt out — see below.
YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it
- correct information that is inaccurate
- delete your personal information
- opt out of targeted advertising, or of the sale or sharing of your information
- not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of these rights, write to info@amitail.com. We will respond within the time your law requires. We may need to verify your identity first, to make sure we are not handing your data to someone else.
California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the rights listed above, and you may designate an authorized agent to make a request for you.
Residents of the EU and UK. Where the GDPR applies, we process your information to perform our contract with you (orders), on the basis of your consent (marketing), and on the basis of our legitimate interests (fraud prevention, improving our products). You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
COOKIES
We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site — the cart and checkout in particular — may stop working correctly.
HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION
We keep order records for as long as we need them to run the business and to meet our tax and accounting obligations, normally seven years. We keep marketing data until you opt out.
CHILDREN
The site is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to info@amitail.com and we will delete it.
INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
We are based in the United States and our service providers may process your information in the United States and elsewhere. Where we transfer information out of the EU or UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
CHANGES
We may update this policy. If the change is significant we will tell you by email or by a notice on the site.
